Another great workshop with Dale Sharpe of DK Photography (www.dk-photography.com.au). Small workshop sessions are definitely where I get the most learning and development in my photography, whether its composition tips or workflow ideas they always give up something useful.
No exception this time.
We went to Shelly Beach, Caloundra, Queensland, Australia. Its in the middle of the Sunshine coast. We were both surprised by the amazing sunset.
The videos are great at showing where and how we set-up, and you can hear a bit of Dale’s advice when we’re thinking about where to set up in the middle of the water. Fun!
The last image, the trees sillouteed against the red sky was a real pain. My camera wasn’t focusing well (it hunts when it gets wet) and I was set way too low to the water, and the filter was covered in water. The only photo that was in focus had a LOT of water droplets over the image. I tried to repair it a bit in photoshop, and this was the best I could salvage. Aduh!
If you’re somewhere nearish Brisbane I can strongly recommend spending a few hours with Dale to work on your photography, loads of fun. Super guy, and really committed to teaching / helping / being there.
You are now officially “rather good”. Nice work chap. C
